Five boys from good families commit a terrible crime: They perform an occult ritual with fatal consequences. As punishment, their parents hand them over to an old captain, whose aim is to teach them some discipline and order on his boat. With an iron hand, he forces the gang to carry out tough physical work on the high seas. But the real purpose of the re-education lies on a tropical island full of bizarre plants that exert a mysterious power over the boys. Only here does their true transformation begin. With exuberant, high-contrast black and white images, director Bertrand Mandico creates a surreal, erotic fever dream and skilfully plays with gender identities. A wild and weird ride.
