Marie and Vincent are barely twenty years old and are already living like an old couple in a suburb of Lausanne. Marie gets by doing casual work, Vincent earns a bit of cash working in a pizza factory, spending the rest of his time caring for his autistic brother Mika and hanging out with his friends at the skatepark. Money-worries pretty much rule the lives of these two young people – Vincent has borrowed from everyone and Marie, fascinated by the idea of easy money, takes up ill-intentioned nightclub owner Oliver’s offer of being a hostess. As time goes on, she becomes so dependent on Oliver that she fails to notice her little piece of heaven slowly slipping away. Germinal Roaux’s enthralling feature debut inspires with its captivating black & white photography.
