The American Lee Miller was a celebrated model and Picasso’s muse before she found her true calling: to become a photographer. During the Second World War, she visited the battlefields in England, France and Germany for “Vogue” magazine, capturing hauntingly beautiful images that still shape our perception of the Nazi era today. Kate Winslet initiated this adventure film as a producer and plays the title role of the independent woman herself – perhaps the best performance of her career. For this, she receives our Golden Icon Award.
