An autumn day in Berlin. Lara is turning 60 today. Technically, she would have every reason to be happy, as her son Viktor will be playing the most important piano concert of his career this very evening. After all, she is the one to whom he owes his musical career. However, Viktor is no longer responding to her calls, leaving no indication that Lara is welcome tonight. The retired civil servant, known for her discomforting unrestrained directness nonetheless sets off to the city with cigarettes and cash in hand. With resolution, she buys all remaining tickets for the concert and distributes them to anyone she meets that day. However, the more she struggles for a successful evening and a reconciliation with her son, the more she has to face her own demons.
