La Herida

Fernando Franco|Drama

Ana is a 30-year-old ambulance driver in San Sebastián. She is devoted in her professional life to the care of her patients: Privately, however, she faces immense problems. Ana suffers from borderline personality disorder, something she is not even aware of. She increasingly shrinks from her social life and constantly upsets family and friends with her unpredictable manner. These unbearable feelings pressure Ana into self-destructive behaviour, including drug abuse and harming herself with razor blades. All Ana wanted was to be happy, but this seems an almost unreachable goal in her case. Fernando Franco’s debut feature is an unapologetic study of a disease rarely discussed in public.
