Twelve-year-old Kaytek lives with his father and Grandmother. When he discovers one day that he has magical powers, a dream comes true for him! The class clown starts experimenting with it, which gradually throws the school and eventually the whole town into chaos. But in the process, the spirited boy realises that what he truly needs cannot be conjured up with magic. The film adaptation of the Polish literary classic transports the audience into a magical world and at the same time provides us with wisdom for life.
