There it hangs, in a fine department store, a cursed piece of red fabric that wreaks havoc and sets a series of misfortunes in motion during the winter sales. Strange yet elegant employee Gwen, however, is able to charm all of her customers – be they a single mother or the wife of a washing machine repairman – into leaving the store with the sinister red dress. And once it has found its way into their homes, there is no turning back... Peter Strickland, master of innovative film material, presents a film which is less a classic horror story but rather a seductively staged ghost story, which pays homage to the Italian giallo movie.
