A family of four, complete with dog and kids, set out in a rented car on a seemingly aimless journey through the beautiful, mountainous countryside of northern Iran. Pop songs are sung, stories are told, stops are made. They all love each other. And they are all on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The longer the journey continues, the more tangible the tension becomes; after all, this trip has a very specific destination. Director Panah Panahi, son of filmmaker Jafar Panahi, demonstrates in this sensational debut that his sense for absurd situation comedy is as finely tuned as it is for drama.
