Vicky and her younger sister, Kaku, live in a small village in India. Despite living a wonderful life on the countryside, their parents can only manage to keep the family’s head above water by taking on several jobs. When the siblings hear about ‘Mother’s Day’ at school for the first time, they make the decision to gift their mother something extraordinary. However, even though they sell their favourite possessions and walk the long way to school every day instead of taking the bus, the amount they manage to save is not enough to get her what they actually wanted. Will they manage to show their mother that they love her nevertheless? HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY is a sensitive film about solidarity, respect, love and the unique little moments in life that actually matter.
