Where has all the joie de vivre gone? Helene Brindel has lost both her bond with God and the love for her husband. When she comes across the theory of happiness by neuroscientist Eduard Gluck while listening to the radio one day, she is immediately fascinated. Soon the two sit together in a restaurant. The bashful Helene and the confident bon vivant feel immediately bound by something special. Helene, however, does not yet know that behind the façade of the successful professor there are deeper abysses hidden – a lot deeper than her own. Starring Martina Gedeck and Ulrich Tukur, GLEISSENDES GLÜCK brings together two German heavyweights of acting. A sensitive yet highly entertaining drama, which tackles themes such as loneliness, despair and, of course, original bliss.
