Jules makes regular appearances as a drag queen on London's nightlife scene. When he is brutally beaten up by a group of homophobic hooligans after a performance, he withdraws, only daring to go out in public again after three months. While visiting a gay sauna, he bumps into Preston, the un-outed leader of his gang of attackers.
