In March 2002, members of the popular but banned spiritual group Falun Gong hack into a Chinese state television station to counter the government's slanderous propaganda. Arrests are immediately made – and many Falun Gong followers are forced to flee. One of the exiles is the comic artist Daxiong. In ETERNAL SPRING, he uses animation to trace the history of this unique protest against the Chinese state system. In the process, insights are gained not only into the relentless suppression of minorities and freedom of expression in the Red Dragon of Asia, but also into the love of one's own nation, despair and the uprooting of numerous Chinese exiles around the world.
