Passionate, intelligent, attractive – one could use all these words to describe Verônica: The world is her oyster. The recently qualified medic is hired as a doctor by a public hospital in Recife, where she soon discovers that dealing with increasingly demanding patients does not bring her the fulfilment she was hoping for. At home, Verônica takes care of her ill father, who wishes for nothing more than to see his daughter in a stable relationship. Instead, her life is defined by short-term romances and on-off relationships. And the more Verônica searches for love, the less she finds it. What will she make of her life? ERA UMA VEZ EU, VERÔNICA is the character study of a woman searching for her personal path to happiness.
