At the age of 30, the eternal student Gonzalo has not yet found his place in life. But he does have a very clear goal: to break free from the ties of the Catholic faith. Easier said than done. The formal way to forsake his belief turns out to be a Don Quixotic task. Gonzalo entrusts his inner path to liberation to a pen pal. It is the story of a sheltered childhood, repressed sexuality – and a secret love for his cousin... As benign as it is absurd, EL APOSTATA is a comedy that not only allows us insight into the quirky lives of its protagonists, but is also beautifully embedded in the setting of the Spanish capital, with its street corners, office blocks, churches and parks.
