È stata la mano di Dio / The Hand of God

Paolo Sorrentino|Coming of Age

Fabietto has grown up in a wealthy Neapolitan family that leads a lavish lifestyle. He’s a fan of the SSC Napoli football club and is suitably overjoyed when his club signs Diego Armando Maradona, the biggest star of the day. Attending a game promptly saves him from a tragic stroke of fate that befalls his family, and helps the young man make the decision to become a film director. In his most intimate and personal film to date, Italian master director Paolo Sorrentino (LA GRANDE BELLEZZA) recounts, via his alter ego Fabietto, his youth in 1980s Naples, where his career began. È STATA LA MANO DI DIO is both a coming-of-age film full of Italianità and a declaration of love for Naples, football and life.
