Dürrenmatt – Eine Liebesgeschichte

Friedrich Dürrenmatt: author, dramatist, painter. December 14, 2015 will be the 25th anniversary of the death of one of Switzerland’s most significant 20th century intellectuals. This innovative biopic enables the original sound of Dürrenmatt’s voice to ring out once more. Using film, radio and TV footage, Zürich-based filmmaker Sabine Gisiger has assembled a ficticious autobiography in which Dürrenmatt speaks about his work and, above all, looks back on his life. Statements from his sister, Verena, and his two children, Ruth and Peter supplement the imaginative first person perspective of the author. The Film takes us as never before into the private world of the thinker – including his intense relationship with wife Lotti, who stood by his side, offering her advice for more than 40 years.
