Alice and her husband Peter are newly retired, but their new phase of life is overshadowed when Magalie, Alice's best friend, dies unexpectedly. While Alice is still grieving, Peter develops into a health fanatic. A cruise is meant to bring the couple closer together again, but when Peter invites Magalie's widowed husband to accompany them on the trip, the togetherness is nowhere to be seen. Without further ado, Alice decides to set off on her own adventure during a shore excursion in Marseille. Based on a screenplay by Petra Volpe, director Barbara Kulcsar skilfully oscillates between drama and comedy in this feel-good movie about the third third of life. Esther Gemsch and Stefan Kurt wonderfully embody the elderly couple in search of happiness.
