Die Erfindung der Liebe / The Invention of Love

Lola Randl|Komödie

“Her greatest fear used to be being lied to and exploited. But as that actually happened, she is now indifferent.” A terminally ill millionaire is ensnared by a young man only interested in her riches – and she plays along. The young man is acting at the behest of his girlfriend Emily, an unsuccessful actress. That’s as far as the plot for the film Ada is shooting goes. When the actress playing Emily fails to turn up on set one day, a new story has to be found. And quick. If only the screenwriter didn’t have writer’s block! Without further ado, Tina, the trainee, is forced into the role of Emily, but this novice refuses to dance to the director’s tune. Her on-screen love affair spills over into her real life. But which is film and which is real life now? And which story influences which? DIE ERFINDUNG DER LIEBE is both a comedy about making films and a homage to Maria Kwiatkowsky (in the role of Emily), who died during shooting.
