by Till Franzen
What happens when people die? On the basis of this question Till Franzen tells the story of a handful of people in Flensburg, on the border of Denmark. There is Momme, whose father has died; Mrs. Marx, the mysterious widow; commissioner Poulsen, alone in his large new house; Mommes grandfather, who cannot realize the death of his son; and Lene, who cares for her cancer-afflicted grandmother, and herself in love with Momme. They all have one thing in common: the isolation, death and Flensburg and they are all determined to overcome their isolation. It is a love story about life and death and how everything repeats itself over and over again.
