Colette

Wash Westmoreland|Biopic

Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette is a vibrant, young and highly-intelligent woman from a sleepy village when she marries her 14-year-older Parisian lover Willy. Thanks to his vast array of ghost-writers, Willy has made somewhat of a name for himself as an author. In order to finance his extravagant lifestyle, he encourages Colette to write down stories from her youth. Although he initially misjudges the potential of Colette's resulting novel "Claudine Awakens" he eventually publishes the manuscript under his own name – to great acclaim. When Willy wants to use his wife's penmanship to further his success, Colette begins to resist and lets her love affairs with other women from Parisian society gradually lead her on her own path. COLETTE is the ravishing portrait of one of the most successful French authors of all time.
