“Statistically, 99 of a 100 people that shoot themselves in the head die and one doesn’t. That’s me.” Living in a time- forgotten, one-horse woodcutter town in Canada together with his constantly nagging mother, Mike would like nothing more than to be rid of his life. His father has not been seen for years and he has no friends, not even a favourite food! His suicide attempt with a way too big hunting rifle (un)luckily goes wrong and, instead of waking up in heaven, Mike finds himself in a hospital bed next morning with nothing more than a single, harmless scratch. When, sometime later, he is diagnosed with a brain tumour after having a routine check up, Mike can hardly believe his luck.
