Checkered Ninja

Following the death of an innocent child in a Thai toy factory, Danish boy Alex, alongside his living ninja rag doll, sets out to hold the corrupt factory owner to account. While the doll is helping Alex to woo his childhood sweetheart, the two also learn that revenge is no better than the original act. Based on a comic by Andres Matthesen, the animated film CHECKERED NINJA – the most successful Danish box office hit since the 1980s – is a black-humoured, entertaining comedy for young and old alike about the downside of a globalised economy and Western tourists’ attitudes towards conveniently displaced developing countries.
