Canción sin nombre / Song Without a Name

Melina León|Drama

Peru 1988, when the political crisis is nearing its peak. For the destitute, heavily pregnant Georgina, the offer from a clinic that supports expectant mothers in precarious life situations comes at just the right moment, seemingly almost too good to be true. Too good indeed, as after the birth, the baby disappears without a trace, snatched unnoticed from its mother... However, Georgina can’t and won’t accept her loss and sets out to find her daughter. With the help of journalist Pedro Campos, she comes to encounter a crime of alarming proportions. Based on a true story, CANCIÓN SIN NOMBRE is an impressive testimony to the hope for justice and against resignation. Reminiscent of last year’s Oscar winner ROMA in its humanity and imagery, this is a poetic journey into a deep abyss.
