Broome, Australia, 1969: at the end of the holidays, Willie, a young Aborigine, must go back to his Catholic boarding school in Perth. Returning to this standardised life is difficult for Willie, not only because he has left behind the summer idyll of the old harbour village, but he also misses his darling Rosie. This causes Willie to rebel against the strict boarding school rules, and instead of waiting to be punished for a prank he played, he sets off on the troublesome journey back to his home region. He is supported on his road trip through the spectacular Australian landscape by uncle Tadpole and the two hippies Annie and Slippery. An easy-going comedy with plenty of dancing and music.
