Brad's Status

Unlike his former college buddies, Brad has remained extraordinarily normal. Although he too would like to travel first class every now and then, the 47-year-old still leads a content life with his wife, Melanie, and their son, Troy. When he sets off on a journey along the East Coast to check out future universities with Troy, Brad suddenly finds himself brooding over the old days: What has he made of his life since graduating? Unlike his friends, Brad is neither rich nor powerful nor famous, nor successful in any other way. What is it that constitutes a happy life, though?
