The pregnant Mahla and the rest of her band set off from the provinces in their rickety light blue bus towards Tehran, where they plan to perform at a concert the same evening. However, they are surprised by a flood that washes away all their belongings and engulfs villages and streets. With dreams in their heads and music in their souls, they try, despite all obstacles, to remain positive. BANDAR BAND is a road movie with lots of music and beautiful panoramic shots of the flooded Iranian south, as well as a parable about a country’s young generation that, although full of energy, constantly finds itself stuck in the mud.
