Another Day of Life

Warsaw, 1975. Journalist and idealist Ryszard Kapuściński convinces his boss to send him to Angola, a country on the verge of independence. When he arrives, he is faced with the dirty reality of the Civil War. ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE traces the three-month trip made by the famous Polish reporter through war-torn Angola – a place of utter loss. The film is loosely based on motifs from his novel, in which Kapuściński in great detail and with seismographic sensitivity recounts his experience of the Civil War. Using a blend of narrative animation sequences and actual documentary interviews, the film not only tells of the absurdity of the war, but also of the way in which an objective reporter becomes an empathic writer.
