It's almost as if Sophie can still feel the sun's rays of the Mediterranean coast on her skin. Twenty years ago, the now 30-year-old spent a vacation together with her father, Calum, at a hotel resort on the Turkish Riviera. Even after all this time, the impressions of that summer are still present: Relaxing by the pool, music from the Walkman, an affectionately teasing togetherness – but also unexpected mood swings. Unconsciously, Sophie fills the gaps between the video recordings made back then with real and imaginary memories. Director Charlotte Wells shows with images of sublime beauty how the present influences our memories. A tenderly stirring cinema experience.
