This film paints an intimate portrait of Roger Stone, Donald Trump's dazzling advisor. Director Christopher Guldbrandsen had access to the populist firebrand between 2018 and 2021, visiting him both at home and at campaign events. The documentary shows how Stone fights for his freedom after his arrest and, after Trump's election defeat, designs the "Stop the Steal" campaign that eventually leads to the storming of the Capitol. A gripping and harrowing document of the abuse of power and use of propaganda, but also a self-critical reflection of a director who became dependent on Stone for unique access to Trump's ideologues and paid a high price for it.
