by Fernando León de Aranoa
The war in the Balkans is nearing an end, and hardboiled development worker Mambrú is on-site with his medical team to administer emergency aid – and clean up after the war. After years of working in the troubled region, he and his abrasive colleague ‘B’ finally want out, unlike the highly motivated newcomer Sophie, who not only stumbles over many of the obstacles presented by working in a war zone, but also struggles with the black humour and old liaisons of her male colleagues. With Benicio del Toro, Tim Robbins and Olga Kurylenko, Fernando León de Aranoa’s star-studded tragicomedy is based on the novel ‘Dejarse llover’ by the Spanish director of operations for MSF Paula Farias.
