Once again, a car accident brings together the lives of several characters. Critically-ill professor of mathematics Paul is in desperate need of a donor heart; his wife is equally desperate for him to make her pregnant. Christina loses the whole of her family in one terrible tragedy – and soon becomes acquainted with the recipient of her husband’s heart. Finally, there’s the religious aex-prisoner Jack, who causes the accident, and is plagued by crippling feelings of guilt after fleeing the scene.
