Treatment Award

Treatment Award 2018

Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) and Telepool Zürich have joined forces once again with the Zurich Film Festival to launch the sixth Treatment Award Competition. Authors are invited to submit a feature film exposé entitled “Together We Are Strong”. The Treatment Award is endowed with a CHF 5'000 cash prize. The winner also receives a screenplay development agreement worth up to CHF 25'000 for the creation of a feature-length cinema or TV film screenplay. The long-term partners primarily created the competition to emphasise the often-neglected treatment phase, which forms an important part of the material and screenplay development process.

The Jury comprises Philippe van Doornick (Deputy Managing Director and Head of Telepool Zürich), Stefan Hoffmann (Project Manager Treatment Award, SRF Fiction Department) and a prominent personality from the Swiss film scene, who will also act as the Jury President. The five finalists will be invited during the Zurich Film Festival to participate in the „SRF Writers‘ Day with ZFF Master Class“, where they will be given the opportunity to pitch their exposés to the Jury. While the Jury then deliberates the winner, the finalists will participate in a ZFF Master Class session headed by a leading representative of the international film industry. The Treatment Award is conferred during the celebratory ZFF Award Night at the Zurich Opera House on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Authors are invited to compete for the Treatment Award by submitting a feature-length cinema or TV film exposé entitled “Together We Are Strong”. Only participants with Swiss citizenship or principal residence in Switzerland can be accepted.

Deadline for appilcation is August 15, 2018.
