America, 1897: With the gold rush over, Bill Haskell and his best friend, Byron Epstein, set out on an adventurous trek into the barely explored wilderness of Alaska. But the rough mountainous terrain, with its extreme weather conditions, turns out to be just one of many unforeseen hurdles. Having arrived in the frontier town of Dawson City, the two soon discover that they can trust nobody. Greedy profiteers, venal women and marauders are the unpredictable rivals in this battle for riches and survival. Based on the novel ‘Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in the Klondike’ by Charlotte Gray, this mini series focuses on the final days of the American-Canadian gold rush.
