This is the premise in THE LEFTOVERS. Three years after the event, the residents of Mapleton are still unable to explain the mysterious disappearance of their loved ones. Chief of police Kevin Garney is the only one plagued by a sinister suspicion, but he attempts to maintain the pretence of normalcy.
This new science fiction series from HBO is available in German-speaking countries on the pay-TV channel Sky Atlantic HD. ZFF presents the pilot episode.
