‘Godfather of Soul’, ‘Mr. Dynamite’ and even ‘The Hardest Working Man in Show Business’: The R&B legend James Brown is credited with many attributes. But who is this multi-faceted musician? As a 16-year-old, James Brown ended up behind bars where he became aware of the band ‘Gospel Starlighters’, and discovered his love for music. After being released from jail, the young man, together with his band "The Famous Flames", quickly garnered attention and developed his very own unique style. As James Brown became increasingly successful, he unintentionally advanced to become an icon of the American civil rights movement. Despite his professional triumphs, the artist continued to struggle with recurring family problems.
