Ann Burden believes she is the last remaining survivor of an atomic apocalypse and therefore the last person on earth. She lives protected from radiation in a remote valley. Her suspicions are aroused one day when a stranger turns up in an unusual outfit. It is the scientist Dr. John Loomis, who specialises in radiation protection clothing. The two cautiously become close, until their intimate togetherness is shattered by the arrival of the equally boisterous and inscrutable Caleb. It’s not long before the two men begin to compete for Ann, and put the survival of the human race at risk. This science fiction drama by Craig Zobel is based on the novel manuscript of the same name by Robert C. O’Brian.
