Everything Will Change

by Marten Persiel Focus Competition

It’s the year 2054, and human life takes place almost exclusively in front of a screen. Ben stumbles across an analogue photo of a giraffe - an animal he has never heard of, let alone seen. Excited, he and his two friends begin to do some research, before coming across the "ark," an institute full of scientists who tell them about climate change on Earth and the once-abundant biodiversity. Fascinated by what they discover and dismayed by the lack of action taken by past generations, the trio sets out to persuade people to save the planet. Using elements of fiction and documentary, filmmaker Marten Persiel turns his gaze towards the future of our planet and creates a dystopian sci-fi fairy tale.

Nominated for the Science Film Award
