À perdre la raison

by Joaquim Lafosse Gala Premieres

Murielle is ecstatic when her boyfriend Mounir proposes. Best man Dr. Pinget wants to take care of the young family’s financial security. With Mounir already living in the doctor’s apartment, Murielle decides to moves in with him. A child soon appears on the scene – followed by three more. Everything appears perfect, yet Murielle feels increasingly imprisoned by her dependence on Pinget. She values him, but her greatest wish is to move to Morocco with her husband and children. When confronted with this, the doctor’s reaction is curt and Mounir quickly backs down. Mounir convinces Murielle to buy a house with Pinget, so the family has more space. This, however, does not solve Murielle’s problems. Her growing suffering causes a gradual loss of grip on reality.
