El último Elvis

by Armando Bo International Feature Film / Competition

By day, Carlos works for little pay at a scrap recycling plant. Now in his mid-forties, his attempts to build a relationship with his daughter – who currently lives with her mother – have failed. At night, however, Carlos becomes a star – he turns into Elvis, and proudly struts the boards singing the King of Rock and Roll’s hits in a glittering Vegas costume. Carlos gradually waves goodbye to the daily grind, preferring life as Elvis: partying with John Lennon and enjoying toast with peanut butter and banana each night. When his ex-wife is involved in a car accident and he is forced to take responsibility for his daughter, Carlos is faced with choosing one of his two lives. EL ÚLTIMO ELVIS tells the story of a man who seeks and finds refuge from the real world – and the consequences of doing so.
