Dans la maison

by François Ozon Gala Premieres

French teacher, Germain, sets his class the task of writing an essay – and is highly disappointed with the results. His near adult pupils produce drab writing, free of expression. Shy Claude’s essay is the only one that is interesting, if somewhat bizarre. In it, he describes sneaking into the home of fellow pupil, Raphael, and describes everything he sees there. Germain is impressed by Claude’s work. Disturbed and fascinated in equal measure by his voyeurism, Germain begins with increasing obsession to encourage the young man in the hope of receiving a sequel to the story – much to the sorrow of his wife, who harbours uneasy feelings about the situation. And with just cause: As Claude’s tales continue, things steer increasingly out of control…
