The Tale

by Jennifer Fox Gala Premieres

Successful journalist and documentary filmmaker Jennifer returns from a shoot in India, when she receives an agitated call from her mother. She has accidentaly stumbled upon a story called "The Tale", in which Jennifer, at the age of 13, describes the "romantic relationship" between her and her former sports coach. Initially, Jennifer does not quite understand the indignation of her mother. Unable to see herself as a victim, she resolutely rejects any suspicion of abuse. However, doubts slowly begin to arise. Determined to find out what really happened, Jennifer starts revisiting places and people from her past. Director Jennifer Fox uses her own experiences of abuse in this honest and touching socio-politically-charged film, which stars Laura Dern in the lead role.
