Roshan calls a taxi. Six hours remain before the court hearing starts. The father of one of the children entrusted to her care faces the death penalty, and the kindergarten teacher is determined to help. Seven people witnessed the fatal incident between him and the son of his boss in a stairwell, but nobody is willing to testify. Together with the taxi driver, Roshan sets off in a last-ditch attempt to get each witness to stand up in court and tell the truth. But Roshan is not the only one trying to influence them. A breathless urban odyssey with a time limit ensues. BRIGHT DAY intelligently deals with the (in)justices, unexpressed fears, corruptibility – and solidarity – found in Iranian society.
