Archive 2011: International Documentary Film / Competition
As an 11-year-old altar boy, Jesús was abused by a Catholic priest. The offence took place 15 years ago, and Jesús is now finally ready to break his silence. He not only reports the offence to officials, but in order to close this chapter of his life completely, Jesús also wants to confront his former tormentor with his side of the story, and for the priest to deal openly with his questions at a face-to-face meeting. Unfortunately, this turns out to be more difficult than he hoped. The man who made his life into a living hell for years is the object of his deep-seated anger, but Jesús also feels something of a brotherly affection for the priest. His story, which could pass as the story of many others, puts a name and a face to an often silent problem.
