Film Music Competition
6th International Film Music Competition 2017
One film – five musical experiences – one winner
The Zurich Film Festival and the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich collaborate once again this year with the Forum Filmmusik to present the sixth International Film Music Competition.
An international expert jury comprising composers, music specialists and filmmakers will choose five finalists from the entries received. The five successful compositions will be world premiered by the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich under the baton of Frank Strobel on October 5, 2017 at the Tonhalle Maag. The winner will receive the Golden Eye for ‘Best International Film Music 2017’ endowed with a CHF 10’000 cash prize.
Participants are invited this year to score the short film TAMAH by Erhan Yürük.
Composers of any age, nationality and place of residence who have scored or orchestrated no more than three films (longer than 60 minutes) are eligible to enter.
The competition entry fee is € 75; there is an early-bird fee of € 50 until April 7. Entries must be received on or before May 11, 2017.
