International Feature Film Competition: New US Indie Film

US indie film is represented four times in this year’s competition section. In one of the year’s most anticipated films, Hushpuppy, the protagonist in Benh Zeitlin’s BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, must fight together with her father against creatures from the Arctic Circle. The fast-paced and equally authentic entry END OF WATCH sees the two cop buddies Taylor and Zavala hunt criminals in South Central L.A. Stand-up comedian Matt has to deal with his nocturnal wanderings and a wedding in SLEEPWALK WITH ME. Also hilariously funny is KING KELLY, where prospective Internet star Kelly and her best friend Jordan battle their way through an American national holiday with their mobile phone cam - a satirical journey through the boundless narcissism of the YouTube generation.
